WHAT  IT MEANS TO BE SAVED?

The key word in the Bible that leads to salvation is the word BELIEVE.  To believe is to accept that something is true or real.  You must accept what the Bible has to say is absolutely true.  Jesus said that when you know (accept) the truth, the truth that you know will set you free, and whomever the Son sets free is free indeed.

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Rom. 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

The process is simple:

Ø    YOU MUST BELIEVE ALL HAVE SINNED

o    Rom. 3:10  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

o    Rom. 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

o    This means “Good People and bad people have sinned.  Jesus is the only one who ever lived without sin.  The greatest sin is turning your back on God by refusing to accept Jesus as your personal Savior

Ø     YOU MUST BELIEVE SIN HAS A PENALTY

o      Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

o    Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death

o    The penalty for sin is death.  We must all die a natural death.  The Bible says that after we die in this world, we must face the judgment of God.  If we die without having our sins forgiven, our judgment is death – hell and eternal separation from God

Ø      YOU MUST BELIEVE JESUS HAS PAID THE PENALTY

o       Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

o     Romans 6:12b but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

o    Eternal God saw into the future.  He saw every sinful thing you have ever said or done.  God loves you so much that He allowed His Son to die for you on the cross.  Jesus was perfect and without sin.  Jesus took your sins and He wants to give you right standing (righteousness) with His Father.  Nothing but the blood of Jesus will pay your way out of sin.

Ø     YOU MUST BELIEVE AND ACCEPT THE PAYMENT

o      Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

o    Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Ø      WILL YOU TALK TO JESUS RIGHT NOW?

§         “Dear Jesus, I know that I have sinned.  Please forgive me for my sins.  I believe you died for my sins and God raised you from the dead.  Please come into my life dear Jesus, and give me your eternal life.  Because you gave your life for me, I am giving my life to you. I reject Satan and the way I used to live. I am giving you my mind, body and soul.  I will do what you want me to do.  I will go where you want me to go.  I will say what you want me to say.  Thank you for forgiving me, Lord, and accepting me into your family”.

Ø      YOU MUST BELIEVE YOUR SLATE IS CLEAN

o       Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

o    When you asked Jesus to come into your life, you became a new creation. The way God sees you now is just as if you had never sinned. There is no more condemnation or judgment against you.  You are forgiven, pure, clean, undefiled . . . virgin.  Don’t you want to stay this way?  You are born again.  You are a spiritual newborn baby

Ø      YOU MUST BELIEVE THE NEXT MOVE IS YOURS

o       Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

o   Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

o    Jesus gave His life on the cross so that you could be made alive in Him.  As Jesus gave His body for you, you must give your body to Him.  Jesus wants to mold you into His image in order to make you strong and like Him.  You must make up your mind that you are going to talk to Jesus a lot, and read His love letters (The Bible) often.  You must also submit yourself to a Bible believing church.  If you are in the Oklahoma City area, we welcome you here at Victory.  If not, we will assist you with one in your area.

Ø   CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE SAVED.
